Andrea has worked at Weber State University since 2017, first as the Coordinator overseeing Diversity and Inclusive Programs under the office of Access and Diversity and as the Advisor for the WSUSA Diversity and Unity Board housed under the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership. She has been working in her current position since the Spring of 2021. Andrea hails from the beautiful farming community of Oxnard located in the great state of California and is a first-generation scholar and proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. Andrea is currently attending Weber State University to obtain a Masters of Education degree in Higher Educational Leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies (Elementary School Education) with a concentration in bilingual and cross-cultural education and a double minor in Spanish and Chicano (Mexican/Mexican-American) Studies from California State University, Chico located in Chico, California. Andrea is passionate about equity, inclusion, and social justice work in relation to empowering, uplifting, and organizing underserved communities, students, and colleagues on campus. In her downtime she enjoys catching up on pop culture, the latest trends, dabbling in graphic design, watching movies, and visiting new places, and enjoying new experiences. It is also important to note that Andrea is OBSESSED with Groku aka The Child aka Baby Yoda.
