In this emphasis, students perform tests for microbial toxins, carry out medical sterilization validations and fermentation of waste green stocks in biofuel production. Firsthand observation of Cobalt 60 Generated Gamma Sterilization, Pharmaceutical and Medical Device testing, and Fermentation production facilities make the Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology program students some of the most well-prepared industry contributors upon graduation.
