Congratulations to Colleen Packer and Andrea Baltazar, recipients of the 2023 Ambrose Amos Shaw Endowed Chair for their project: Comcaacs, Conastas and Commerce: A Research Project and Film Presentation about the Cultural Heritage of the Comcaac Tribe

Jean Norman and co-authors Lisa Lyon Payne, Elizabeth Smith, and Kristie Hettinnga published their research article: “Exhausted and Lonely: Learning in Student Newsrooms During COVID.” Media Practice and Education. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/25741136.2023.2225204

Michael Ault, Communication Alum Lola Amacher, and Bobbi Van Gilder have had their article accepted for publication: “Whiteness, Marginalization, and Exclusion: An Analysis of Tongan Students’ Experiences in US Institutions of Higher Education.” Journal of International and Intercultural Communication

Michael Ault partnered with faculty from Utah State University, University of Utah, Utah Valley University, and Southern Utah University on an NSF grant investigating how to improve pedagogy regarding research data security in undergraduate courses at teaching-focused universities.

Mylynn Felt presented at the 73rd International Communication Association Conference: "Keeping the Fire Alive: Maintaining a Social Media Community Dedicated to Preventing Violence Against Indigenous Peoples."

Alexander Lancaster presented on behalf of MPC Alum Cynthia Reinhard and Communication faculty Aaron Atkins and Michael Ault at the 73rd International Communication Association Conference: "You're fired": The Influence of Heuristic-systematic Processing in Communication and Termination Decisions in Organizational Environments.
