What will I learn in the program?

As a student in the Master of Professional Communication’s program, you will receive instruction in team building and facilitation, organizational leadership, strategic communication, and communication research. You will also continue to develop your proficiency in professional writing, presenting, communicating visually, and in using new media.

In-Class and Online Learning

Master of Professional Communication courses are enhanced with technology to combine the strengths of face-to-face instruction with the convenience of online learning. In addition, this format allows you to understand and experience the integration of traditional and online communication skills needed in today’s world.

Convenient, Two-Year Program

As a busy adult in Utah, you can obtain your Master of Professional Communication degree at Weber State in two years while continuing full-time employment and your personal life with in-class instruction generally held just one night a week on the Ogden, Utah, campus.

New and Emerging Media Emphasis

Understanding the importance of integrated communication strategies is simply a must in today’s fast-paced digital world. Master of Professional Communication classes emphasize new and emerging forms of communication that allow individuals and organizations to constantly rethink, develop and implement solid communication strategies.

Weber State University campuses will be closed from November 26 to November 30, 2020 for the Thanksgiving Holiday and from December 24, 2020 to January 4, 2021 for Winter Break. 

Master of Professional Communication offices are closed to face-to-face and drop-in visitors until January 4, 2021. We are available via phone and email during normal business hours and will reopen the office on Jan. 4, 2021.
