Weber State Encourages Vaccines with Clinics before Fall Semester

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University is collaborating with the Weber-Morgan Health Department (WMHD) to offer vaccination clinics throughout the month of August at the Ogden campus and the Community Education Center in central Ogden.

Recent surveys indicate that 80% of the Weber State student body population is or plans to be vaccinated by the start of fall semester. The vast majority of faculty and staff have gotten their COVID-19 vaccine as well.

“Our Weber State community has shown exceptional willingness to curb COVID-19 through vaccination,” said Dane LeBlanc, WSU Public Safety director.  “However we know vaccines are the safest way to return safely to campus, and we want to give everyone the opportunity.”  

Vaccination Clinics Dates/Times

Shepherd Union Atrium, Ogden campus

Aug. 10, 12, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26 & 27 (10 a.m. - 3 p.m.)

Aug. 30 & Sept. 3 (8 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

WSU’s Community Education Center, 2605 Monroe Blvd., Ogden

Monday and Wednesdays Aug. 2 to Aug. 30 (1 - 8 p.m.)

Vaccinations are free. Walk-ins are welcome, or to expedite the process, you can sign up at vaccinate.utah.gov. 

The community is invited to attend. The vaccine is available for all individuals over age 12. The vaccine is free and no identification or health insurance is required to receive a shot. Participants should plan to get a second dose three weeks after their first dose in order to be fully vaccinated. 

“We appreciate the opportunity to work with Weber State in serving the community,” said WMHD Executive Director Brian Cowan. “We hope that many residents as well as Weber State students will take this opportunity to be vaccinated as the school year starts.”
