With thousands graduating, Weber State commencement will be outdoors and feature Wildcat-themed drone show

OGDEN, Utah — Weber State University will honor the class of 2025 during commencement and convocation ceremonies April 25–26.

More than 3,600 students are expected to graduate from the university’s seven academic colleges, earning credentials from associate’s degrees to doctorates.

“Nothing compares to celebrating the hard work and accomplishments of our students,” said WSU President Brad Mortensen. “They’ve earned this moment to shine. And I always look forward to those conversations when students come back and tell me about the positive impacts they're making because of what they learned at Weber State."

Activities will span two days, with colleges holding individual convocation ceremonies — where graduates walk across the stage while their names are read — beginning April 25 at 9 a.m. Visit the commencement website for the full schedule.

This year’s general commencement ceremony, which is free and open to both Wildcats and the public, will be held outdoors at Stewart Stadium on April 25 at 7 p.m.

The universitywide event will feature a drone show, lighting up the sky above the football stadium, and guest speaker Diane Morais, who recently retired after a distinguished career in financial services. Morais served as former president of Ally Bank, overseeing consumer and commercial banking. She managed 3,500 employees, $50 billion in assets, $2 billion in annual revenue, and more than $144 billion in deposits.

On-campus parking for graduation is available but limited. For the easiest access, attendees should park at the Dee Events Center and take the free shuttle to Stewart Stadium. Look for pickup signs on the northeast side of the Dee Events Center. Shuttles run every 10 minutes.

If graduates stop to take photos by the iconic flaming W rock south of Shepherd Union, they may also use the OGX Wildcat Shuttle for a free ride back to the Dee Events Center. This bus runs every 10 minutes on weekdays and 15 minutes on Saturday.

In the event of inclement weather, graduation will be moved indoors to the Dee Events Center. Check the commencement website for updates.
