Student Appointment Attendance Policy

Two no-shows, three cancellations, and/or a combination of no-shows and cancellations may result in your tutoring privileges being discontinued for the remainder of the semester.

What counts as a no-show?

If you fail to attend your scheduled appointment, OR you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours' notice before your scheduled appointment start-time and cannot reschedule. This also includes showing up more than 15 minutes late to your appointment. Extenuating circumstances may result in the absence being excused.

What counts as a cancellation?

If you cancel your scheduled appointment using the Starfish application with more than 24 hours notice, contact your tutor directly OR the appropriate learning center via phone or email.

How do no-shows and cancellations affect my tutoring eligibility?

Given that our tutoring staff are students themselves, we want to ensure that their available appointment times are filled with regularly scheduled appointments. Two no-shows, three cancellations, and/or a combination of no-shows and cancellations may result in your tutoring privileges being discontinued for the remainder of the semester.

Will I be notified of changes to my tutoring eligibility?

Yes. You will receive communication to your student email for each violation and a reminder of how each violation affects your tutoring eligibility.

Can I be reinstated for tutoring after being dropped?

If you are interested in being reinstated for tutoring during the current semester, you must meet with the tutoring coordinator. Please contact the appropriate learning center to set up a meeting.
