Academic Standing Transcript Comments
Students who fall below the 2.00 cumulative WSU GPA required for good academic standing are placed on the following standings:
- Academic Warning: The cumulative WSU GPA is below 2.00 for the first semester after good academic standing or after readmission from Academic Suspension. Students must complete the Bounce Back academic remediation program before enrolling in their next semester.
- Academic Probation: In a subsequent semester after Academic Warning, the subsequent term GPA is below 2.00 while the cumulative WSU remains below 2.00. Students must complete the Bounce Back academic remediation program before enrolling in their next semester.
- Academic Suspension: In a subsequent semester after Academic Probation, the subsequent term GPA is below 2.00 while the cumulative WSU remains below 2.00. Students are prohibited from enrolling in the subsequent semester and are readmitted on Academic Warning. They must complete the Bounce Back academic remediation program before enrolling in their next semester.
Note that prior to Summer 2019, the University had three levels of suspension: a one-term suspension for students on their first suspension, a one-year (three-term) suspension for students on their second suspension, and a three-year (nine-term) suspension for students on their third or subsequent suspension. Students were readmitted on Academic Probation after serving their suspension and could appeal the length of their suspension with the Office of the Registrar; the transcript comment in cases of successful appeal is Readmitted on Probation.
