The New Faculty Retreat will be held August 18-20 at Homestead Resort. This retreat is for all new full time faculty and will kick off the yearlong New Faculty Experience. At the retreat, you will have the opportunity to network with your fellow new faculty members, deans, administration, seasoned faculty, and other departments. There will be sessions to help you develop and design your courses, manage difficult conversations in the classroom, and navigate the work-life balance. If you are a new full-time faculty member, please consider participating in the New Faculty Retreat.
In October, the Teaching and Learning Forum will host one of two mini-retreats for adjunct faculty. This first retreat on October 15 will focus on teaching with technology and innovation. More information to follow. Check back here.
The time has come to submit your nominations for a faculty member to deliver the 2022 Last Lecture. In this tradition, one of Weber State’s finest instructors is invited to give a hypothetical final presentation to students and colleagues. This lecture can take any form and be on any topic, and is often a topic that a professor never has the opportunity to present in a typical class. This long-standing tradition is common throughout the country, and has been a way to honor and highlight the work of one of our faculty members. Visit our website to find out more and to nominate a faculty member for the Last Lecture. Deadline to nominate is September 9.
