Congratulations on your provisional admission into the program! Your admission is valid for five years from the date of your acceptance letter. You will be formally admitted as a candidate for licensure at the beginning of your student teaching semester provided you have successfully completed all required coursework, testing, and field experience. Participation in the program demands your maintenance of high standards of professional conduct and scholarship.
When starting the program, it is important that you do the following:
- Extensively read over your admissions letter and corresponding supplemental letters.
- Complete your background clearance check and fingerprinting. According to Utah State Board of Education guidelines, WSU CANNOT accept background clearances from any other agencies. Additional information may be found on the Livescan Fingerprinting website.

- Participate in the "First Reading" Assignment. Please refer to your acceptance letter for the title of the book you will need to read.
- Attend the mandatory new student orientation session which will be the first day of classes (face-to-face and online).
