Preferable Criteria
| Replace all university-owned vehicles with alternatively fueled vehicles with a prohibition on the purchase of new light-duty vehicles that are solely run by fossil fuels after the year 2025 |
| Install electric vehicle charging infrastructure to support the university fleet vehicle transition |
| Create a plan to replace all university-owned landscape equipment with alternatively fueled versions |
| Transition campus emergency generators over to battery backup systems to the greatest extent practicable and then annually purchase carbon offsets to neutralize the impact of the few remaining diesel generators |
| Source nearly 100% of WSU’s energy from renewable sources by 2040 |
| Over time, phase in the purchase of carbon offsets to neutralize 100% of the impact of fossil-fuel-based university travel and commuting |
