Navigational Academic Advising

Navigational Academic Advisors respect and foster student success by providing support, connections and resources to all students (which includes transfer, returning, and adjusting students). We strive to mitigate barriers and collaborate with students to help them overcome challenges and achieve their educational goals.

We can help you navigate the admissions and transfer articulation process and connect you with your academic advisor* so you can get on track to earn your degree.

Thinking about coming back to Weber after a break?
Start with an academic transition advisor to review your academic history, get connected with your academic advisor* and make a plan to finish what you started.

Not sure about your major?
We can guide you through the process of clarifying your skills, interests and abilities so you can select the major that will help you achieve your academic and career goals.

Have questions but are not sure who to talk to?
Meeting with an academic transition advisor can be a great place to start. We may not be able to answer or resolve all your questions, but we can help connect you to the people who can.

*Navigational Academic Advisors can provide you with general information about WSU degrees but you’ll need to meet with your academic advisor to go over your specific degree requirements. Use Find My Advisor to find their contact information and schedule an appointment.

Scheduling an Appointment with Us

Appointments are available in person at WSU Ogden or virtually through Zoom.

  • If you are a prospective student or are unable to schedule an appointment through Starfish, please call 801-626-7006 or email transitionadvising@weber.edu with your appointment availability, W Number (if you have one) or Date of Birth, and phone number and we'll contact you to schedule an appointment.
  • If you are a returning student, your student email may no longer be active. Please update your contact information through the "Personal Profile" app in eWeber to ensure we have a current phone number and personal email on record for you. A current personal email address may be required to receive the Zoom link if you have chosen a virtual appointment (you may also add this to the comment box in Starfish when you schedule the appointment).
  • If you are a new student needing to complete your Weber Welcome Advising & Registration Requirement, please see weber.edu/orientation for options for meeting with the academic advisor for your major to clear this requirement.
