Lydia Austin

Lydia is a senior in the program and will graduate in April of this year. She is currently a member of the women's golf team at Weber State University. Lydia grew up in the construction industry and loves everything about it. From a young age she could be found on the jobsite with her dad, a framing and general contractor, observing and helping whenever she could. She has an extensive background in the industry and enjoys learning all she can about it. Lydia loves working in and learning about construction because it's a results driven industry. She loves to watch something progress from start to finish. Being on the Solar Decathlon team has broadened her understanding of residential construction. Her role on the team has included a little bit of everything from doing the quantity takeoff for the lumber package to preparing and planning the open house events that will take place. She has enjoyed every step of the project and has loved seeing the hard work and time spent come to fruition.
