TikTok

Weber State’s official TikTok handle is @weberstateu. The channel is operated by the Office of Admissions with the support of Marketing & Communications and is the only account supported by the university, outside of WSU Athletics.

Weber State colleges, schools, academic departments, centers and individual offices should not create separate TikTok accounts. TikTok is a platform that requires more time and higher production demands than other social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Having one account for all colleges and campus entities reduces oversaturation, fracturing of audiences and abandonment issues that have plagued other social media platforms over the years.

Please reference the university’s Social Media Guidelines for more guidance on when (or if) you should create new social accounts.

We encourage the production of short videos to promote the work in your area as TikTok can showcase the full range of WSU experiences. If you have an already established Instagram account, you are encouraged to share content as a Reel. If you’d like your short videos published on the TikTok account or have video ideas, please fill out this form

Admissions and marketing officials from across the university meet once a month to discuss TikTok strategy and content ideas. If you’d like to be included, please reach out to admissionssocial@weber.edu.
