WSU Celebrates Derrick Porter at the Legacy of Excellence Event
OGDEN – Derrick Porter, former CEO of Beauty Industry Group, was honored this past week at the Legacy of Excellence Event. Porter, a Professional Sales graduate in 2010, was given the award and a member of the Alan E. Hall of Fame. The dinner, a bi-annual
event, honors Professional Sales alumni for their accomplishments in the professional workforce, and their incredible vision in their careers.

Professional Sales Students Win Big at NCSSC, ACSC
ATLANTA – For the third consecutive year, Weber State Professional Sales students took home hardware at the National Collegiate Sports Sales Championship in Atlanta. This year, however, may be their best performance at the event since its inception five years ago. The team of Enoch Fleming, Casey Smith, and Parker Wilcox, took home 3rd place in the corporate partnerships division. Fleming, a junior Professional Sales major from Fayetteville, Arkansas, made it to the semi-finals of corporate partnerships, and finished fourth overall.

Enterprise Rentals Hosts Annual Sales Challenge with Weber State Students
OGDEN – The Department of Professional Sales hosted its bi-annual internal sales competition on Tuesday, with 65 students competing. The 2024 competition sponsored by Enterprise Rentals, a premier partner of the program, is one of the highlights of the spring semester. At the event, students have a valuable opportunity to showcase their sales skills in real-life roleplays and situations and win thousands of dollars by placing.

Alumni Jon Christensen Honored at Legacy of Excellence Dinner
OGDEN – Former star wide receiver, and Professional Sales graduate, Jon Christensen was honored Tuesday evening as the inaugural inductee into the Alan E. Hall of Fame. The award recognizes exemplary alumni of the Professional Sales Department and highlights the success they have in the corporate world following graduation. Christensen, graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Professional Sales (’21), and also went on to receive his MBA (’23), all while playing wide receiver for the Wildcats.

Podium Announced as the Newest Sales Center Partner
OGDEN – Technology giant Podium is the newest partner with the Alan E. Hall Center for Sales Excellence, agreeing to a multi-year agreement with Weber State University last week. The SAAS company, located in Lehi, is one of the heavyweights at silicon slopes, and is an incredible career opportunity for students graduating with a degree in Professional Sales.

Internal SDR Sales Competition a Valuable Tool for Sales Students
OGDEN – Over 80 Professional Sales students competed in the internal sales competition on Thursday. The event, created to give students yet another real-world
perspective, was the first internal sales competition held during the fall semester. Students who competed and placed took home a $100 bookstore gift card for their winnings.

PSSA Students Continue to Rack Up Awards
PHOENIX – Current Professional Sales Student Association students placed at the 2023 Southwest Sports Combine, a sales competition held by Arizona State University. Casey Smith, a sophomore Professional Sales major from Farmington, took second place in the corporate sales portion of the event, earning $250. The event was Smith’s first major sales event that he competed in as a member of the PSSA.

Top Golf Networking Night Still a Hit
MIDVALE – Over 50 Professional Sales students attended the Top Golf Networking Night in Midvale, UT, and connected with 20 employers about future career opportunities. The event highlights some of the best Weber State students in the department, and connects them for employers who are on the hunt for new sales professionals.
