Military Science Minor Courses

To earn your military science minor, you must complete all ROTC advanced courses.

In order to enroll in advanced courses, you must complete basic courses in our four-year program, or meet the qualifications of the two-year program.

Basic Courses

MILS 1010 – Introduction to the Army and Critical Thinking (3 credits)
MILS 1020 – Introduction to Profession of Arms (3 credits)
MILS 2010 – Innovative Team Leadership (3 credits)
MILS 2020 – Foundations of Tactical Leadership (3 credits)
MILS 2400 – Physical Readiness (1 credit)

 

MILS 3000 - American Military History (3 credits) Open to all Cadets. Military History is a required class to commission as a 2nd Lieutentant. 

 

 

Advanced Courses

MILS 3010 – Adaptive Team Leadership (4 credits)
MILS 3020 – Leadership in Changing Environments (4 credits)
MILS 4010 – Mission Command and the Army Profession, Part 1 (4 credits)
MILS 4020 – Mission Command and the Army Profession, Part 2 (4 credits)



MILS 3000 - American Military History (3 credits). Military History is a required class to commission as a 2nd Lieutentant. 
MILS 4400 – Advanced Physical Readiness (2 credits)
HIST 3280 – American Military History from 1500 to 1890 (3 credits) OR HIST 3290 – American Military History from 1890 to the Present (3 credits)

Elective Courses

MILS 1110 – Basic Rife Marksmanship (1 credit)
MILS 2220 – Advance Rifle Marksmanship (1 credit)
MILS 1220 – Wilderness Survival Skills (1 credit)
