Welcome to the Department of Respiratory Therapy in the Dr. Ezekiel R. Dumke College of Health Professions! Through classroom, clinical, and community outreach settings, you will gain experience leading you into a lifesaving career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Weber State University is among the few universities to offer a bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy, providing you with the fundamental and technical skills needed to work in the interdisciplinary future of respiratory therapy. WSU BS in Respiratory Therapy graduates will be eligible to take the NBRC Respiratory Therapy Exams.

Respiratory Therapist get to work with patients in a wide variety of clinical and community settings, such as: newborn intensive care, adult critical care, emergency care and air/ground transport. All with the goal of helping their patients just breathe! In addition, Respiratory Therapists treat and education patients with asthma, emphysema, and rehabilitation of patients with diseases that require long-term breathing retraining.
