Dr. John M. Mbaku (2000)
The John S. Hinckley Award recognizes a Weber State University faculty for excellence in exemplary teaching, outstanding scholarship and extraordinary service as judged by students, faculty colleagues and administrators and the greater academic community. When I learned that I had won the award, I felt proud, but yet humbled because I knew that there were other colleagues who were equally deserving of this honor. As educators, our main goal is to enhance student learning and to prepare our graduates to become efficient and more productive workers, and better citizens. While this award is a recognition of the efforts that I have made in achieving this goal, I consider it a challenge for me to do better and make certain that Weber State University continues to prepare individuals to become more informed and productive global citizens.- John Mukum Mbaku
