What do podiatrists do?
Podiatry is a field of medicine that strives to improve the overall health and well-being of patients by focusing on preventing, diagnosing and treating conditions associated with the lower extremities. Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (DPMs) are physicians and surgeons who practice primarily on feet and ankles.
What are the graduate study requirements?
The preparatory education of most DPMs includes four years of undergraduate work, followed by four years in an accredited podiatric medical school, followed by a hospital-based residency.
Extracurricular Opportunities
Extracurricular activities are often the component of an application that makes one more competitive. Getting involved provides an opportunity for you to connect with others on campus and in the community, and will enhance your effectiveness and compassion as a podiatrist.
