II.  POLICY

Benefit-eligible employees are allowed up to eight hours of service leave, prorated on an FTE basis, each leave year to perform voluntary community service.  Such leave will only be granted for University-wide days of service organized by the Weber State University Center for Community Engaged Learning.  Such days of service include Weber State University's Day of Remembrance (Homecoming week in Fall); Weber State Honors MLK Week (January); and Weber State University Makes a Difference in Ogden (May).  Such days of service may change over time.

III.  PROCEDURES

A.  The employee must schedule the time off with his/her supervisor.

B.  The employee may volunteer for any of the University-wide days of service as organized by the Center for Community Engaged Learning.

C.  The employee will sign in and out of the service event at the Center for Community Engaged Learning registration table in order to record attendance.

D.  The employee will log the service hours through the WSU Leave Tracker in his/her portal.

E.  Supervisors may verify the attendance and hours served by any individual employee by contacting the Center for Community Engaged Learning.
