Legal Studies Minor

Our legal studies minor introduces you to the study of law in society from a broad, interdisciplinary perspective.

 

What You’ll Learn

Learn how the legal system operates and the ways it influences your life. 

Along with courses emphasizing law as applied by courts, you can also take classes that explore how the law works within society, such as:

  • Theories of Crime and Delinquency
  • Criminology
  • The U.S. Supreme Court
  • Forensic Psychology
  • Constitutional Rights
  • Free Speech in Law and Politics

What You Can Do

Legal studies helps prepare you for law school, along with careers in the following fields:

Degree Information

Degree Requirements

Legal studies minors must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 18 credit hours
  • Minimum grade of C in all minor courses (a C- is not accepted)
