Weber State University is excited to announce a new opportunity for technical college students who have completed a certificate to earn elective credit toward their associate or bachelor’s degree. This initiative aims to improve transferability and help you complete your degree faster by awarding up to 21 elective credits for your completed Utah technical college certificate.

Earn Credit for Your Hard Work: Get up to 21 elective credits for completing a technical college certificate, accelerating your progress toward an Associate of Science in General Studies (AS-GS) or any undergraduate degree.

Streamline Your Path to a Degree: Begin your journey at Weber State with many of your elective requirements already completed.

Flexible Support for Degrees: These credits can be applied to any undergraduate certificate, associate, or bachelor’s degree program at Weber State.
Credit Conversion
Credits will be converted as follows:
- 30 credits (900 hours) = 21 elective credits
- 20-29 credits (600-899 hours) = 18 elective credits
- 10-19 credits (300-599 hours) = 12 elective credits
- Less than 10 credits (less than 300 hours) = 6 elective credits
Elective credits can be combined with direct course articulation up to the stated number of elective credits.
What’s Next?

Get Accepted: Apply and be accepted as a degree-seeking undergraduate student at Weber State.

Submit Transcripts: Send your tech college transcripts to Weber State.

Upon review, the Records Office & Transfer Office will apply the up to 21 elective credits automatically. New students without an established WSU record will be awarded after the fifteenth day of the semester.

Complete New Student Orientation: Information will be mailed to you after you’re accepted.

Enroll in Classes: Enroll in your first semester. You can declare an AS-GS, but it’s not required.
