Executive Leadership Admission and Selection

Admissions

Admission into the WSU Post Master's to DNP- Executive Leadership Program is selective. 

The Post Master's to DNP - Executive Leadership program utilizes an online application process

  • It is critical that all parts of the application process be completed and submitted. Incomplete applications will not be considered
  • Earned MS Degree with major in nursing from a Regionally Accredited college or university and nursing accredited program (ACEN, CCNE or CNEA) OR Earned BSN, RN, MBA from a Regionally Accredited College or University (ACEN, CCNE or CNEA for the BSN) OR Earned BSN, RN, MHA from a Regionally Accredited College or University (ACEN, CCNE or CNEA for the BSN) OR Earned BSN, RN, MPH from a Regionally Accredited College or University (ACEN, CCNE or CNEA for the BSN)
  • Possess a current unencumbered RN license or eligible to obtain licensure without restriction to practice as an RN in Utah (or in your State of Residence).

Selection

Up to 16 positions are available annually (minimum of 8 required) 

Applicants are reviewed according to a selection point system established by the WSU DNP Degree Admissions Committee.

Applicant ranking includes: 

GPA: Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale), includes all college-level coursework

  • Vita/Resume
  • Personal Statement
  • Writing ability as evidenced by Vita/Resume and Personal Statement
  • Letters of Recommendation (2 required)
  • Veteran Status

Application Process

1. Read the Post Master's to DNP Executive Leadership Applicant Checklist (PDF).

2. The application deadline is August 1, 2025 (or earlier). The Fall 2024 program filled up in June 2024. Apply early to secure your position. This application is considered both the application to DNP-Executive Leadership Program and the University. No need to also separately apply to university.

    3. Please note: Per WSU policies, minimum student enrollment is required for programs to operate. If the minimum enrollment is not reached by August 1st students will be notified.
