Student Navigation and Transition Center Scholarships

To apply for Weber State Scholarships:

  • Complete the FAFSA Form and the Specialized Scholarship Application.  To complete these requirements, please follow the steps on the Financial Aid Website.
  • If you qualify for one or more Student Navigation and Transition Center scholarships, your information will be sent to our center, and we will contact you if you meet the criteria.

Note: The applications are reviewed during the summer preceding the academic year of the scholarship (e.g., summer 2024 for the 2024-2025 academic year). Final candidates will be notified via their Weber State student email account (mail.weber.edu) and will be asked to submit additional paperwork at that time.

Patti Nicholas Choate Memorial Scholarship 

This scholarship is not a cash award; tuition and fees only.

Students must be a nontraditional student (over 25, spouse or committed partner, divorced/widowed, single parent, or have children), a Utah resident and U.S. citizen, eligible for federal financial aid at WSU by submitting a FAFSA, attend full-time, and have a WSU GPA between 3.0 and 3.5. Finalists will be contacted via email to submit a letter of need and two letters of recommendation.


Rising Star Scholarship

This scholarship was established in consideration of efforts being made by Weber State University to obtain annual support for deserving nontraditional students. Weber State acknowledges the generosity of the donor and recognizes the continual support given to WSU students. This scholarship is not a cash award; tuition and fees (class and department fees are not included).

Students must be a nontraditional student (over 25, spouse or committed partner, divorced/widowed, single parent, or have children), a Utah resident and U.S. citizen, eligible for federal financial aid at WSU by submitting a FAFSA, have completed 24 credit hours at an institution of higher education, and have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above. Finalists will be contacted via email to submit a letter of need and two letters of recommendation.


Walter C. Swanson Scholarship

A donation from the Walter C. Swanson Foundation will fund these scholarships. Dr. Swanson was an Ogden Podiatrist who graduated from Weber College in 1917. This scholarship is not a cash award; one-half tuition and fees (class and department fees are not included).

Students must be a nontraditional student (over 25, spouse or committed partner, divorced/widowed, single parent, or have children), a Utah resident and U.S. citizen, eligible for federal financial aid at WSU by submitting a FAFSA, a junior or senior, and have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above. Finalists will be contacted via email to submit a letter of need and two letters of recommendation.
