AS to MSRT

Our Associate of Science to Master of Science in Respiratory Therapy (AS to MSRT) program allows you to earn your master’s degree within three years.

Criteria

  • Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy from a regionally accredited institution or WSU-accepted equivalent
  • Registered respiratory therapist (RRT) credential

Acceptance

If you meet the criteria, you’ll receive conditional acceptance to our MSRT program based on completing the Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy program during your first year.

Once you complete the bachelor’s degree requirements, you’ll matriculate into the MSRT program.

If you do not meet acceptance requirements at the end of your first year, you will be advised to complete undergraduate courses to earn your bachelor’s degree, but MSRT acceptance will not be guaranteed.

MSRT

Our Master of Science in Respiratory Therapy (MSRT) builds on our undergraduate program by giving practicing respiratory therapists the skills to advance their careers.

Criteria

  • Bachelor of Science from a regionally accredited college/university or WSU-accepted equivalent
  • Minimum average GPA of 3.0 from last 60 semester hours of undergraduate degree, or minimum achievement on Miller’s Analogy or Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
  • Registered respiratory therapist (RRT) credential
  • Healthcare experience

A total of 30 students are accepted each fall semester.

Admission is competitive; therefore, the listed criteria for admission are considered minimum standards.
