Admission and Selection

Eligibility

Admission to the Radiologist Assistant (RA) program requires:

  • Graduate of a regionally accredited baccalaureate academic program in health science preferred (includes, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing).  However, other baccalaureate programs will also be considered.
  • Be certified and registered with ARRT in Radiography to work as a Radiologic Technologist (RT)
  • Have at least two years of acceptable clinical experience in Radiography
  • Identification of Radiologist preceptor and clinical site.

International applicants are not eligible to apply for the RA program unless they obtain Radiologic Technologist (RT) certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).  Before applying to the program, please email msrs@weber.edu for advisement.

*If you do not have your bachelor's degree and are looking to complete your degree, please call the School of Radiologic Sciences at 801.626.6057 for opportunities to complete your degree.

Preceptor Requirements

  • It is also the student's responsibility to identify a preceptor who will work with them during the program. A signed agreement form from a clinical-practice site and preceptor (radiologist/physician) will need to be submitted with the online application.  Applications may be submitted without the agreement form identifying the preceptor and clinical site for conditional acceptance.  However, preceptor and clinical site must be identified by July 1, 2023 or enrollment will be deferred until Fall 2024.
  • Due to California state law, we cannot accept Radiologist Assistant applicants who have clinical sites in California.

Application Deadline

The application deadline is May 1 for priority acceptance to the RA program for fall semester enrollment, however, applications may continue to be accepted beyond the priority deadline as space is available.  Preceptors must be identified by July 1

Applications for Fall 2024 semester will open November 1.

We will continue to accept applications beyond the deadline!
