  • ASCP

The American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification is the standard for certification of laboratory personnel.

ASCP's 2010 wage survey of U.S. Clinical laboratories found that certified laboratory professionals earn up to 14 percent more than their non-certified counterparts.  Also, many laboratories will not hire non-certified laboratory personnel.

Students are eligible to sit for the MLT certification exam via Route 1 with ASCP after successfully graduating with an AAS MLT degree, and for the MLS certification exam via Route 1 with ASCP after successfully graduating with an MLS BS degree.

Learn more about ASCP and how to apply here.
