High School Editors Conference

About the Event

As a staff, the editors of Metaphor invite high school students to participate in a conference held annually in the spring. Prior to the conference, we host a writing contest that participating students can submit to for a chance to win cash prizes. At the conference, we host a variety of editor-led courses in which students have the opportunity to learn more about literary editing, writing, and publishing at the collegiate level and beyond. We will also host an open mic and a luncheon at this event.

Our spring HSEC is scheduled for:

Monday, March 2nd, 2020, 9 AM to 2:30 PM.

How to Participate (Teacher/Advisor Use Only)

Participating in HSEC is by invite only.

If you are a teacher or advisor interested in bringing students to this event, please contact our Assistant Editor at the contact information listed below by Monday, Janurary 27th, 2020. Please include the number of students you anticipate to bring, as well as whether or not they will participate in the writing contest in your query.

Unfortunately, we have a limited amount of slots open for this event, and we may not be able to accomodate all requests. You can expect timely communication from our Assistant Editor in making and confirming any plans.
