MENTOR HIGHLIGHT

angeloAngelo Giovanni Pena

How does being a mentor benefit you?

Being a mentor has been phenomenal! It has given me the chance to improve my interpersonal skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability.

How are you a benefit to your mentees?

As a peer mentor, my mentees have been able to learn various ways to navigate the school resources. I have been able to create a safe environment where my mentee feels comfortable asking me questions.

What would you tell someone thinking about joining a mentor program?

Being a mentee comes with many benefits. You are able to learn many new things from your mentor’s college experience. You build a support system with your mentor. As a mentee, you can be empowered to build skills that can help you develop your personal growth.
