Dr. J. Kirk Storey

Dr. Storey comes to Weber State University after over 20 years in industry. After climbing the corporate ladder and ascending to Vice President and Chief Mechanical Engineer for a large engineering firm, he left all that to pursue a career teaching and helping younger engineers make wise decisions. His
industrial experience comes out in the classroom where he can usually answer the question “when am I going to need this in real life?”.

Teaching Experience

Dr. Storey has taught at Park University, Utah Valley University, Brigham Young University – Idaho and
now Weber State University. He has taught developmental math through calculus III, Mechatronics,
PLC programming, Statics, Mechanics of Materials, Dynamics, Machine Design, and many other courses.
