Bethany, MBA '23

“The small class sizes provide the perfect opportunity for students to network with each other, learn how to work effectively as teams through group projects and have adequate access to one-on-one time with their professors.”

Why the MBA?

I have over 15 years of experience in the business world. My background is in Human Resources, but I took on a new role a few years ago that is broader than HR where I now oversee all operations and administrative functions for my company. I wanted to have a wider business knowledge base and the MBA was a natural path to help me be better in my current role and for the rest of my career.

Applicable Education

Having work experience made my education a lot more valuable because I was able to connect concepts being taught in class to my career. I was able to learn one day and apply it on the job the next day. I have a business undergraduate degree, but the things I've taken away from the MBA are so much more applicable now that I have work experience to apply my education in real time.

Personal Attention

I loved everything about my experience at Weber State. The faculty and adjunct professors were amazing. They were so knowledgeable, helpful and willing to go above and beyond to ensure that my classmates and I understood the material. I got to know them on a personal level because they were open and supportive, which was so valuable. I formed some great friendships with people I've met in my classes and I know those relationships will last far beyond my time at Weber State.

Faculty Impact

Michael Stevens was incredible and changed my life in terms of how I function as a leader of an organization. He taught Leadership Thru People Skills, which enormously impacted me. I also really enjoyed learning from Andrew Keinsley and Brett Horstmann. But all the faculty and instructors were great.

Advice

Do the work to get the most out of your time in the program. The professors and adjuncts have so much to offer. Immerse yourself in the material and then practice it in your work.
