Program Details

Most classes for the Master of English follow a 16-week format, meeting one night per week from 5:30 to 8:10 p.m. Courses are offered during the fall, spring and summer semesters. You may take up to nine credit hours per semester or step out of the program for a semester when your life or career needs to come first.

Degree & Certificate Options

The Master of Arts in English program offers four emphases so students can customize their studies to their needs and passions. There is also a non-degree post-baccalaureate certificate that provides students with advanced training in Rhetoric and Writing Studies with an emphasis on teaching college-level composition. Some students even pursue two emphases and work toward the certificate as well!

Curriculum

To earn your Master of Arts in English degree, you must complete the core requirements and one emphasis. The core requirements for our degree include the Introduction to Graduate Studies course focusing on academic research and writing and a literary seminar on an Eminent Author or in American, British or World Literature.

Our course schedule follows the full-length university semester calendar and includes the same registration and tuition deadlines, holidays and breaks.
