Genderbands

Genderbands offers the following resources:

• Transition grants: are open every year from Oct. 1 to Nov. 30
• Social, travel, surgical, and medical grants can be used for many different aspects of a person’s transition
• Binders are available for pick-up in Orem or when Genderbands tables at Pride events

Genderbands also organizes Utah Trans Pride.

Sixfifty

Sixfifty provides name and gender marker paperwork for you, pro bono!

Utah Legal Clinic’s “Name and Gender Changes”

Utah Legal Clinic provides information and services for name and gender changes.

The Jim Collins Foundation Grant

Eligibility:

• You are at least 18 years of age at the end of the grant application cycle, Aug. 15 of each year.
• You are able to have the gender-affirming surgery you are applying for within one calendar year of being awarded a grant.
• You are able to cover the costs associated with travel, lodging, medications, food, and post-surgical care. JCF grants cover the surgical fees associated with a gender-affirming surgery which includes the surgeon, anesthesia and hospital fees.
• You do not have health insurance, or health insurance that covers gender-affirming surgeries.
• You are financially unable to access surgery without the assistance of a grant.

The 2025 grant cycle will open June 1, 2024, and closes on Aug.15, 2024.

Point of Pride

Find resources and funds for to help cover: Annual trans-surgery, HRT access, Electrolysis support, Free chest binders, and Free femme shapewear. Point of Pride also offers a resource library that covers: Crisis & Emotional Support, Mutual Aid/ Emergency Funds, Indigenous & Black-Centered Funds and Resources, AAPI-Centered Funds and Resources, and Trans-Centered Resources.
