Exchanging Currency

Most places in the U.S., with the exception of some sellers at the farmers market, accept credit cards. Cash is rarely used, except occasionally for tips or at less formal places, such as the farmer’s market. However, most places accept cash, as well. If you wish to use cash, we encourage you to exchange it into U.S. dollars in your country of origin as not all currency exchanges are available in the U.S.

Health Insurance

Visiting a doctor in the U.S. can be very expensive in the absence of health insurance. We encourage you to purchase health insurance for the duration of your travel. Please check with your insurance agencies.
