Teaching Interdisciplinary Courses

In order to encourage interdisciplinary teaching that spans disciplines and colleges, Weber State University will pilot a new program which will allow faculty, who have received approval from their department chair, to teach interdisciplinary courses as part of their regular load. In consultation with their deans and department chairs, faculty may be allowed to teach at least 1/8 of their annual load as interdisciplinary classes.  Interdisciplinary courses are here defined as courses which are not part of a department’s regular course offerings and which span departments or colleges. The number of in-load interdisciplinary credits for a department in a given semester may equal up to 1/8 of the total in-load credits offered by the department’s full-time faculty members that semester.

In the 2023-24 academic year, there will be a new home for courses that span colleges--contact us about the UNIV prefix for your innovative classes!
