Courses
Description
Skills and knowledge needed by lifeguards to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies are taught.
The course content and activities prepare lifeguard candidates to recognize emergencies, respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drownings and other incidents. The course also teaches other skills and individual needs to become a professional lifeguard.
Upon successful completion of this course participants will be certified in American Red Cross CPR for Professional Rescuer and Lifeguard Training.
Prerequisites & Equipment
Prerequisite: Skills screening will be required. Please note: The Lifeguard Training certificate includes certification in first aid. Equipment will be provided by the instructor and activity program.
