Graduate Student Travel Award

The Office of Graduate Studies offers travel awards of up to $500 for graduate students accepted to present their research or projects at regional, national or international conferences, seminars or workshops.

Funding can also be used to attend regional or national conferences, workshops or seminars for professional development to support graduate coursework and career goals.

All applications are reviewed on the 15th of each month. Funding notifications will be sent to the student’s Weber email by the 25th.

Application Instructions

 
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a Weber State University graduate program
  • Applicants must apply on GivePulse after logging in with WSU Secure Login credentials
  • All applicants must provide documentation for the conference they are attending; presenters must also submit an abstract (see instructions below)
  • Applicants must submit their application to the Office of Graduate Studies within 30-45 days of their conference, workshop or seminar.

Students attending a conference but not presenting


Students attending but not presenting at a conference, workshop or seminar must submit a professional, two-paragraph essay on how the conference applies to their professional development, graduate coursework and career goals.

Applicants must submit this essay with their application.

A maximum of $250 may be awarded to students who attend a conference or workshop but do not present.

Students Accepted to Present at a Conference: Abstract Instructions


Students presenting at a conference or workshop must submit a 400-500 word abstract, which may differ from the abstract submitted to the conference.

The abstract must include the applicant’s name, their graduate program, and the name of the project or research faculty mentor.

A maximum of $500 may be awarded to students who present their graduate project or research at a conference or workshop.
