WELCOME from the chair
DARCIE COSTELLO acting department chair & associate professor
Welcome to the School of Accounting and Taxation. The School of Accounting and Taxation is separately accredited by AACSB International, the most recognized accreditation for business schools worldwide. This accreditation distinguishes programs that meet the highest standards of quality in accounting education.
At Weber State, we value the undergraduate experience and each faculty member is committed to exemplary teaching and relevant research to prepare students to be future leaders in accounting and taxation. Average class size in the undergraduate curriculum of the School of Accounting and Taxation is fewer than 30 students. Accessibility to our curriculum is exceptionally flexible, with every course offered either in the evening or on-line at least once a year. As an open enrollment university, we embrace the mission to afford students opportunities that larger institutions often cannot accommodate. Our graduates go on to jobs in public accounting, industry, and government. These graduates contribute to their communities in a robust way, having acquired an appreciation for public service through a professional education underpinned by an excellent liberal education.
We offer programs in accounting and finance, as well as a minor in accounting. Additionally, the School of Accounting and Taxation offers a Master of Accounting and a Master of Taxation, consistent with the needs of our profession. Notably, Weber State is the only university in
Utah that offers a Master of Taxation. Feel free to stop by and we can discuss how our faculty can help you become a future leader in a
profession with outstanding opportunities.
