WHY WEBER STATE?

I came to Weber State in large part because of the scholarships. It was affordable, and I wanted to live from home to allow myself to save for my future. Additionally, there were programs that interested me such as the education department and the business department. My dad graduated from Weber State, which influenced my decision to attend Weber and to major in accounting.

WHY MASTER OF ACCOUNTING?

Primarily, I wanted a master’s because to further my career, obtaining a master’s degree was a requirement. Also, I have really enjoyed the program. I loved the teachers. It didn't feel the same as the undergraduate program, it was harder in terms of materials, but the classes were interesting since it was an area I was fascinated in. I enjoyed going to the classes and learning more about the complexities of accounting.

FACULTY IMPACT

I loved Valerie Chambers' classes. She feels personable - she knows us personally and wants us to succeed, which I felt during each of her classes. She was so adamant about us doing our best. All of the teachers were amazing, but she was my favorite.

ADVICE   

---

Talk to your teachers when you need help. I tend to try to figure things out on my own, but talk to your teachers and your classmates when you're stuck to get insight. Avoid confusion and frustration, there are many individuals who are more than willing to help guide you to success.

I will be studying for my CPA exams over the summer, and continuing with my current company for now.
