DALLIN DEGROOT
supply chain management '24 outstanding grad
“Preparation precedes power.”
WHY WEBER STATE?
I grew up around here, and family and friends all said great things about Weber State. After coming here, I found that the professors really care about you and want you to succeed - in class, in your career, in your life. I love that there are lots of non-traditional students here, too, so you are always getting different perspectives from your own.
WHY SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT?
I was looking for a balance between hard skills and soft skills. When I took my first class, I felt that supply chain would give me the best option between quantitative and qualitative skills. I found it most engaging and interesting. And, I felt that supply chain skills would always be marketable and a valuable skill set.
ENVIRONMENT MATTERS
The environment at Weber is awesome. The professors understand that life exists outside of school. And the staff is always willing to help - I think that Nancy (Tomon) would do anything to help you.
FACULTY IMPACT
All of my professors made an impact, but what Professor Francois taught really helped me apply tools and skills to real-world situations. He reminded us to have fun and enjoy what we were doing. He modeled for me that I could be skilled and successful, and still be a good, kind, and caring person.
ADVICE
Preparation precedes power. Coming prepared, ready to participate, will prepare you for a successful career and successful life in general.
CAREER ASPIRATIONS
I am working part-time right now in logistics at Hill Air Force Base. My plan is to stay there for now and continue to learn and grow.
