WHY BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION?

I chose Business Administration right after coming to Weber State. One of the first classes I had to take was Business 1010, and it was an overview of each topic in business. Each topic I enjoyed more and more. When we got to the section related to organizational behavior (as part of the Business Foundations classes), I went to my advisor about halfway through the semester and said, “This is what I want to be doing!” My advisor looked to get me into the right major, but found I was already enrolled in Business Admin. I chose right in the first place.

PROFESSORS THAT CARE

The ability to talk to my professors one-on-one during their office hours made an enormous difference. Once I got over the fear of asking for help / guidance, realizing they were there for me was a breakthrough in my educational experience. As a first-generation college student, I didn’t know the ins and outs. I felt taken under their wing and helped through it.

FACULTY IMPACT

Dr. Bryant Thompson was the first organizational behavior professor that I had. He set the stage for what a good leader looks like through his stories and lectures. Nazneen Ahmad motivated and helped me complete a research project for the office of undergraduate research, but she took me by the hand and encouraged me through the process – much more than I would have expected. Doing research was something I always wanted to do but didn’t know where to start.
