WHY WEBER STATE?

I am the last of my family to graduate - and everyone has graduated from Weber State. So not only is it a tradition, but it just makes sense. It's close to home, it's affordable, the community is great, it's easy to get involved, I can get ahead...it's just a great start.

WHY MARKETING?   

---

I initially flip-flopped in what I wanted to do. I started with my gen-eds, but once those were done I wasn't sure what I wanted to go into. There was nothing I loved enough or had a passion for. I had friends in the marketing program so I decided to take a few classes. Once I got into it, I found I loved learning about it. Marketing is so big in the world right now, and I love that there are lots of opportunities and different ways to apply it. I found myself falling in love with it. I especially love digital marketing campaigns, and social media. I have had some experience now working on media campaigns and have loved working with clients and exploring different ways of promoting products, branching out, and getting messages out there. I love that there's no box with marketing. I am especially interested in project management.

FACULTY IMPACT

I have loved Sky King's classes. He is a kind person, always willing to make sure we understand the concepts he is teaching us. He helped us a long. Also, Clinton Amos is always willing to help, and eager to make sure that his students understand the material. I gained so much from their classes, among many others.

ADVICE   

---

Enjoy the journey. I sometimes got caught up in maintaining good grades and working hard. But it's important not to get bogged down too much in the work. Remember to enjoy where you are at, even if it's not where you want to be yet.

WHAT'S NEXT

I have accepted a full-time position, which I begin right after finals, in Asset Management (photography) with a company I have been interning with. I'm excited for this new challenge.
