Economics is vast and intersects all areas of life. In the Department of Economics, students learn about data, research, applying statistical methods, problem solving and understanding relationships between economic indicators. 

Participate in the Student Economic Association, present and publish your undergraduate research, study abroad, take part in a variety of field-related internships and prepare yourself for a variety of different careers.

Business Economics

A bachelor’s degree in business economics will help you understand our national economy and have the critical thinking skills to solve problems in the business world. 

This degree is regarded by graduate business schools and law schools as excellent preparation for advanced work toward a Master of Business Administration or a career in corporate law.

Economics

The Economics major develops your expertise in economic analysis and critical thinking, preparing you to become a highly valued professional in roles that require rigorous undergraduate training. You will learn how markets function, how policies shape economies, and how data informs real-world decisions.

Quantitative economics mixes a quantitative, mathematical, and statistical background with data and business fundamentals, along with macro and microeconomics, preparing you for data-driven careers such as actuarial science.

Economics with legal studies builds analytical skills and knowledge of law and legal institutions in the context of the United States and the global economy, valuable preparation for law school and careers as a lawyer or attorney.

This major also provides excellent preparation for graduate study, including master’s or Ph.D. programs in economics or finance, or a quantitatively-oriented MBA.

International Economics

International Business Economics

Do you want to work for a multinational business organization or work outside of the United States? The international business economics program might be for you. 

The program is designed to provide students with study abroad and professional experiences that are complemented with foreign language skills. This business degree is unique, as it includes a language requirement and study abroad opportunities, with our full business curriculum.
