EQUITY, DIVERSITY & INCLUSION STATEMENT
The Goddard School of Business & Economics is committed to building a community that values all dimensions of diversity through a mindset of conscious inclusion. As educators of business and economics students, we are catalysts of change, and we must own the responsibility to speak loudly, challenge systemic inequality, promote equity as the path to equality, and act with intention to ensure that all people have the opportunity to flourish. The work involved in creating this community requires self-reflection to root out unconscious bias, as well as ensuring that the communities we serve are represented within our students, faculty and staff.
We understand the importance of putting action behind our words. With that, we are implementing actionable plans, measurable goals, and public facing progress. Specifically, some initial areas of focus include:
- Analyzing community demographic data in relation to student, faculty and staff representation.
- Examining the policies and guiding principles of the Goddard School to uncover any disparate impact.
- Engaging in community outreach and recruiting efforts specific to our Latinx community.
- Conducting a pedagogy and curriculum review.
- Engaging in deliberate dialogue to successfully identify and approach issues of diversity and inclusion.
Our commitment to creating an environment that embraces the best values of society, where everyone can thrive, requires continuous effort and dedication from all parts of our community.
