Frontage Gateway & Lighting Project
Exciting changes are ahead for the campus along Harrison Blvd!
As part of our campus master plan improvements, gate posts and artifacts from old roads onto campus from Harrison Blvd. are being demolished to make way for new lighted elements that are better suited to the current size of campus structures, as well as the nearby roads and business features. The gateway and lighting project is intended to improve signage for our campus and ensure that the community can find us as they travel along Harrison.
Large gateway columns with prominent logo identifiers will be installed at the 3950 and 3850 S. entrances. Crosswalks across Harrison Blvd. at these locations with be enhanced with purple and white striping. Lighted poles will illuminate the sidewalks along the frontage -- and they will glow purple! All of these new elements will enhance the current Weber State University sign that was first installed in the mid 1900s. A few upgrades will make it more visible since both trees and Harrison Blvd. have grown quite a lot since it was built.
The construction process will mean dirt, dust and occasional traffice disruptions. Please watch for altered traffic patterns to keep everyone safe.
This project is designed by VCBO Architects and being built by YESCO.
