The 2024 Tyson Mason Memorial EMS Conference

In the many and various roles of a healthcare professional, we are all dedicated to serving, helping and supporting others. Tyson Mason was a particularly special example of this during his career as a firefighter/paramedic in Utah.

As a young adult, Tyson started a career in the public service after completing firefighter training at Utah Valley University, followed by EMS training at Weber State University’s paramedic program. As a caregiver and public safety provider, Tyson was an individual that others trusted, so his career commitment to help others seamlessly tied to his personality. Yet on Sunday, January 22, 2017 Tyson was taken from us all, when he passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on his way home from a Life Flight shift.

With the help of Tyson’s family and friends, Weber State University is honored to continue Tyson’s gift of compassion through the Tyson Mason Memorial Scholarship Foundation and the Tyson Mason Memorial EMS Conference. May we all continue to learn and serve others as Tyson did.
