National Registry Paramedic Practical Exam

Exam Dates

The next scheduled NRP Psychomotor Examination is as follows:

Due to the current pandemic, all psychomotor testing has been put on hold until further notice.  Please contact the NREMT for further direction on any available testing sites.

  • Payment for non-Utah BEMS candidates must be received in order to be placed on the roster

Parking

A-6 parking passes are needed for testing occurring on Monday through Friday.

Obtain passes at the information booth just off Harrison Boulevard.

No passes are needed for Saturday or Sunday tests.

Exam Details

  • We test at the PARAMEDIC level only
  • A "no-charge retest" is generally available on same day.
    • Retests start immediately after initial tests - no additional practice time is allowed.
  • Please leave cell/smart phones, computers, I-Pads, pagers, radios, etc. at home or in your car. If you need to be contacted the department phone # is 801-626-6521.
    • Use of an electronic device on the test site can lead to dismissal and the voiding of your exam.
  • We do not break for lunch – pack yourself a sack lunch.
  • We utilize the LifePak 15, LifePak 12, and iSimulate Realti cardiac monitors. 
  • Please pay particular attention to the "critical fail" areas

Exam Fees

  • First attempt testing for Weber State paramedic alumni – $50.00.
  • WSU paramedic alumni with lapsed certification or any Utah BEMS paramedic program alumni – $100.00.
  • Out-of-state and other candidates – $150.00.
  • Individual skills retests – $25.00 per station.
  • "Third attempt" skills re-testing is free to any Utah BEMS paramedic program student.

Steps to take

  1. NREMT has recently established PATT (Psychomotor Authorization To Test)
    • Go to https://www.nremt.org and establish a candidate account
      • If you graduated in Utah prior to July 1, 2008, DO NOT SELECT your previous educational institution as you now fall under the "Utah BEMS" category
      • If you are out-of-state, contact your educational institution or state office of EMS
  2. After completing your NREMT candidate account contact Weber State EC&R Department
    • Call 801-626-6521 and provide Ana or Bill with your PATT number

    Please confirm with Weber State Emergency Healthcare that a test slot is available

  3. Immediately remit the appropriate fee by check, money order, or credit card to the WSU cashier's office. The cashier is in the student services building on the campus of WSU in Ogden. You can also pay by phone by calling the cashier at 801-626-8006. Tell the cashier that you want to make a payment for testing to the Department of Emergency Care and Rescue. The detail code that they will ask for is D003. Once payment is made, have the cashier provide you with a receipt (they can email this to you as well). You will then need to email the receipt to williamrobertson@weber.edu
    • Checks and Money Orders should be made out to "WSU"

    • There will be no refunds for cancelation or failure to show after this point
    • Under no circumstance will names be placed on the roster without the test fee being paid
    • Under no circumstance will names be placed on the roster without NRP candidate registration
    • NREMT no longer allows "add-on's" or "walk-in's" on test day
