Virtual Field Trips
The Earth and Environmental Sciences Department at Weber State University has created multiple virtual field trips highlighting points of geologic interest, mostly in northern Utah. These will soon expand to other locations across the world and are intended for our faculty to use in their courses. There are integrated assignments suitable for students in both introduction and upper-level courses available.
Corresponding assignments for these field trips are available upon request. Contact Earth & Environmental Sciences professor Elizabeth Balgord at elizabethbalgord@weber.edu or 801-626-6225.
ANTELOPE ISLAND STATE PARK
These tours include a discussion of the geology along the Frary Peak Trail and the Buffalo Point Trail. Some of the vocabulary is somewhat advanced (mostly time periods). It was designed for students in a second semester Historical Geology course. There is an assignment available upon request.
