Early College

How Does It Work?

Early College allows high school students to earn college credit on one of Weber State’s campuses before high school graduation. Students must reside in Utah in order to participate in Early College.

Hear from former Dual Enrollment students and parents about their experiences in our programs on the Students Page!

High School Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors
Have a cumulative high school and WSU GPA of 3.00 or higher.

*Home-schooled students must earn a placement into ENGL 1005 via the Accuplacer or ACT AND Math 1035 via Aleks or ACT to qualify for admission into the Early College program.

For Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathway Students
Have a cumulative high school and WSU GPA of a 2.5 or higher. *Courses restricted to chosen CTE Pathway.

Students applying for the Early College program as a high school student will need to provide a high school transcript from an accredited high school showing completed coursework equivalent to their high school graduation year.

The sooner you apply for Early College, the better. We recommend starting the process as soon as possible to ensure that there is time to complete all the required steps.

The Fall 2024 application is closed.

For Spring 2025 applicants, steps 1-2 of the process must be completed by December 13th, 2024 and step 3-4 must be completed by December 19th, 2024.

How Much Does It Cost?

Early College students pay tuition and fees just like regular WSU students. The amount of tuition and fees depends on the number of credit hours for which you register.

There are Early College Scholarships available that may be able to pay for the majority, if not all, of the cost of utilizing this opportunity!
