Dance Education

Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Science in Dance

The dance education major prepares students to be teachers of dance in public, private and nonprofit sectors. Both BA and BS majors follow a program based in the knowledge and understanding of dance education for K12, secondary education and studio teaching. Instruction focuses on pedagogy, choreography, history and performance.

All students seeking secondary certification and elementary endorsement must satisfy all requirements for the Licensure Program as outlined by the Jerry and Vickie Moyes College of Education (including a minimum GPA of 3.0 for admission to the Education Program).

Dance Teaching Minor

A dance teaching minor is available for students seeking a concentration of study in dance teaching to complement another degree program. This minor features coursework in a variety of dance forms and creative work.
